Below is a summary of monitoring data which is an overview of the power quality of the Mains LV supply of a food processing site, before and after the installation of an active harmonic filter and static VAR generator specified by PQIS.
The table illustrates a significant reduction in THD, Current, maximum demand and reactive power with the new power quality unit in circuit. The overall power quality, believed to be the root cause of electrical equipment failure onsite, is now very good. The power factor is now consistently 0.99 and the THD(I) is 6.5% these values indicate a good power quality.
Any reactive charges will also be eliminated from the electricity bill and a KWHr loss reduction is also expected from the >15% reduction in current.
